Another I-Pod Story

We had a funny little situation today. Owen found a song on my "ear-pod", as he calls it. (yes, that absolutely makes more sense than an eye-pod). This song was meant for mommy for working out in the gym, not for a 4 year old to decide it's his favorite new song. However, I cracked up at the logic and sheer brilliance of my child.

Owen: (listening and singing to the song "Milkshake") "My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard. Damn right, it's better than yours"
Mom: "Hey, Owen....that word "damn" is not a nice word. We don't say that word, okay?"
Owen: "What about beavers?"
Mom: (thinking the worst) "Whaaaaaat????"
Owen: "Beavers build dams. What's wrong with that?"
Mom: (wiping brow) "Yes, you are right. There are two meanings to that word. When we are talking about beavers, you can use that word. When you are singing that song, try another word in it's place like darn or dang"
Owen: "Okay mommy."
