Aboard the Nina

It was a beautiful morning to take the kids aboard the Nina, an exact replica of Christopher Columbus' famous ship. They had fun and just thought it was a cool pirate ship. To me, it seemed surprisingly small, especially for crossing the entire Atlantic. The crew that mans the ship now actually lives on it, as it sails from city to city.

Wes is looking down into the cabin, where the current crew sleeps. I was told that on the voyages in the 1400's the crew slept on the deck while the livestock was kept below.

Looking at their "treasure" maps.

Okay, onto another story. This cap was leftover from the hospital visit yesterday. Owen put it on his head and I asked him, "are you a doctor?" And he said "No, this is like the women at Costco who do the cooking". I don't know why I thought it was so funny that he actually said "women" instead of "people" or "girls" or "ladies". Women just doesn't seem like a word that a four year old would say. Not to mention the fact that they both looked totally silly!

And of course, Wes had to give it a try too.....
